A very surreal experience to walk along the White Cliffs of Dover. Having watched what seems like hundreds of War War II movies (it is probably less!) The White Cliffs of Dover are one of the most iconic and recognisable names, phrases, locations in England. Again super surreal to think that in 1940 British and Germans fighter planes were engaged in dogfights above these very cliffs and fields during the Battle of Britain.
I listened to Vera Lynn singing There'll be Bluebirds Over The White Cliffs of Dover while editing and captioning this photograph and must admit I got a wee tear in my eye hearing it - I am going soft in my old age.
