I met Muni on State Highway 2 near Silverstream today, heading north. I had been into Wellington and was riding north also.
Muni had left Wellington city and was heading over Rimutaka Hill to Featherston and return, training for an upcoming tour.
There medium/strong headwinds from the city all the way to Te Marua (38.5kms) , but then I turned around and rode home via Whitemans Valley Road to bring up 90kms. Muni had another 23kms before he could turn around and feel the tailwinds. Plus he had to ride the Rimutakas twice. Because of the winds today I think the Rimutakas on a bicycle today may have been verging on the dangerous.
I am very pleased with myself as finally, I am remembering to photograph people I meet - I've managed four people in the last month. For the majority of the time I have had my new bike I meet people then one minute after we say our goodbyes I realise I didn't photograph them! I always ask if I upload their photo to Flickr. I have only ever had one refusal and I have respected that, but it was a shame as I think it wasn't a half bad photo. It wasn't a cyclist but someone in their workplace surrounded by all sorts of interesting equipment just before they retired.
